From Sketch to Screen: Pulling the Metaphorical “Strings of the Status”
Art has the unique capacity to evolve over time, much like our own healing journeys. Strings of the Status began its life long ago as a raw, personal ink sketch in a notebook. Years later, I returned to this archival image, transforming it into a high-contrast digital artwork that speaks to the overwhelming feeling of losing control over your own life choices.

Year:ย 2013
Medium:ย Digital Art
The Body as a Theater
The composition presents a central figure covered in physical lesions historically associated with advanced clinical symptoms. However, rather than leaving them as mere markings of pain, the artwork transforms these lesions into literal strings that pull upward toward the sky like a classic puppet theater. The body becomes an instrument operated by an unseen master.
Reclaiming Personal Agency
This piece represents the crushing sensation that a medical diagnosis has taken the reins of your entire existence. Suddenly, every future dream, daily movement, and personal relationship is forced to filter through a rigid, cold clinical lens. By taking this painful concept and transforming it into digital art, I am stepping out of the role of the helpless puppet and stepping into the role of the designer, pulling the strings back into my own hands.
